Any person who is not an Australian citizen and wishes to enter Australia, whether for travel, employment, business or residence, temporarily or permanently, is required to apply for and be issued with an Australian visa. This may be a temporary Australian visa or permanent Australian visa.
There are in excess of one hundred Australian visa categories for Australian immigration. The role of the Australian agent (who by Australian law must be Registered with the Migration Agents Registration Authority in Australia) is significant in assisting you or any member of your family in applying for the appropriate visa. We urge you to ensure you are using the services of a Registered Australian Agent.
New Developments
General Skilled Migration
On 17 May 2010 the Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, Senator Chris Evans, announced a list of occupations that will form a new Skilled Occupation List (SOL). For General Skilled Migration you must be under 45-year of age.
The new Skilled Occupation List is proposed to commence 1 July 2010. Click here http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/pdf/new-list-of-occupations.pdf to check whether you have a skilled occupation on the new Skilled Occupation List and contact us to assess your eligibility.
Employer Sponsorship
You may be eligible for employer sponsorship if your skilled occupation is on the ENSOL list (which is broader than the new SOL) Click here http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/pdf/1121i.pdf to view the ENSOL list to check whether you have a skilled occupation and contact us to assess your eligibility.
Business Owners Visa
If you are less than 55 year of age and have an ownership interest in a main business where you have owned at least 30% of the business, you may be eligible for one of the business visa categories.
You must have a commitment to maintain an ownership interest in a business in Australia.
Furthermore, as an alternative option, where you are operating a business outside Australia, your business (including your business in South Africa) may be approved as a standard business sponsor in Australia.
Contact us to check whether you are eligible for a business owners’ visa or to be appointed as an overseas business sponsor.
